Job Summary and Qualifications

NTSOC was started by a parent with a special needs child in 2001 so parents can get their children Medicaid waivers and be trained to be paid CNAs while taking care of their families and their medically fragile child. NTSOC provides supportive services to special needs pediatric patients and their families. Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, NTSOC serves families throughout El Paso, Fremont, Pueblo, and Teller counties.

Job Summary: Responsible for Supervision of NTSOC facilities and supplies.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs routine maintenance tasks to support facilities regularly and as needed throughout the year (daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, etc.).
  2. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment, the buildings and grounds as required.
  3. Regularly inspect equipment and facilities for safety and repair.
  4. Maintain stock of supplies for facilities, office, cleaning and medical equipment.
  5. Coordinates and supervises external service work with vendors.
  6. Managing hazardous waste disposal programs, and managing the paper recycling program.
  7. Assists with maintaining up-to-date records for all state, federal and insurance inspections.
  8. Keeps up on technological changes and compliance requirements to meet new laws and efficiency standards.
  9. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the CFO.
  10. Maintains the work area, equipment, facilities and grounds in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  11. Maintains, preserves, and inventories company assets and keeps detailed inventory.
  12. Coordinates facilities needs for functions and meetings, including set up and tear down of in-house and field events.
  13. Ensure that spending is within budget requirements, makes budget recommendations.
  14. Performs other related job duties as required.

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional related vocational coursework preferred.

Minimum Experience: Five years of work-related experience in a similar environment.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls and communicate effectively with other people.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and climb ladders and other objects as needed.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in an office environment.  May be exposed to occupational hazards such as dust, odors, fumes, communicable diseases, and harmful chemicals. Alertness and careful attention to detail are necessary to avoid injury.  Must be able to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with changes in activity.

Standard working days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, for eight hours per day. However, the position may require on-call duty and the ability to work during nonstandard hours when the need arises.  This position is based in Colorado Springs with occasional travel to the Pueblo facility.

Equipment Used:

Computer based word processing.  Office equipment used such as copiers, printers and fax machines. Other equipment such as hand and power tools and other tools and equipment associated with trade.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate the quality of care services and to resolve issues.

  • Strong computer skills. Ability to work with electronic medical records system.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, clients and medical personnel.
  • Ability to advocate for and relate to clients/families and their concerns.
  • Ability to remain current in the skills and knowledge necessary to provide quality patient care.
  • Current knowledge of laws and regulations related to home care.
